You may know me already from Twist of Dark, my coastal, gothic, and nature-inspired side of creativity. But here, at Blackthorn Banshee, I’m letting my nerdy heart run free. Think chainmaille, cosplay, Dungeons & Dragons, World of Warcraft, and all things medieval, fantastical, and a little mischievous.
I first set foot in Azeroth during Mists of Pandaria, with a warrior named Gracethans. Over the years I found myself more drawn to hunters and druids, and more recently — after returning from a WoW break — I’ve been pulled towards the rogue. Each shift in class has shaped the way I see fantasy, treasure, and the kinds of characters I bring to life.

At home, I’ve always been surrounded by gaming too. My partner is a Warhammer player, board game collector, and fellow adventurer who takes part in an runs dnd games. I’d always hovered around his games, curious and interested… and eventually I rolled my first character and joined him in Dungeons & Dragons. It didn’t take long before I realised how much roleplay, story, and costume fuelled my imagination.
I’ve always loved the aesthetic of steampunk dressing up — the gears, leather, and metalwork drew me in — though I’ve never been one for frilly dresses. When I pulled together pieces from D&D and WoW to create a character-inspired outfit for a recent witchy market, something clicked. This wasn’t just dressing up, it was stepping into the role of my own adventurer — the Blackthorn Banshee.

So this blog will be part craft diary, part cosplay log, part adventurer’s journal. Here you’ll find:
- My chainmaille jewellery, inspired by armour, trinkets, and treasures.
- Tales from my cosplay adventures and market stalls.
- Stories from my D&D campaigns and WoW journeys.
- A sprinkle of folklore, fantasy, and mischief.
This is my way of blending the worlds I love into something you can wear, collect, and enjoy. Whether you’re here as a fellow gamer, a cosplayer, a faire-goer, or just someone who loves a touch of medieval magic — welcome to the adventure.
⚔️ The Blackthorn Banshee has arrived.
